CBS 700 Club: “Host Pat Robertson has warned Secretary of State John Kerry that any peace agreement in the Middle East that results in Israel losing parts of Jerusalem will be calling on God’s wrath. I think this is headed for disaster for the United States.”
God says, they divided my land, there is something about dividing God’s land, he said this is my land, I gave it to Abraham and his descendants and I don’t want it taken away from them and Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel, Robertson said.
Opinion: Long time readers will know the passage Robertson is quoting: “In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land” Joel 3:1-2.
God restored the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem on two occasions. In 545 BC, in fulfillment of Daniel 9:25, King Artaxerxes of Persia issued a decree to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem ending the 70 year Babylonian Captivity; again on May 14, 1948, in fulfillment of Isaiah 66:7-8, Israel was restored to the land of promise, never again to be uprooted, Amos 9:23.
The Valley of Jehoshaphat or valley of decision is an unknown location and possibly symbolic of the theatre of the final war. God will put them (people who divide His land) on trial but the outcome is God’s wrath.
Notice how God calls Israel ‘My inheritance’ and foreknows that the nations will divide His land.
