JPost: “The political leaders of France and Germany today deplore anti-Semitism and make striking gestures of solidarity with their country’s Jewish population, but the gestures seem helpless.
The number of anti-Semitic incidents, as tracked by such bodies as the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, is on the rise. Many Jews in many European countries, but above all in France, are contemplating leaving because they believe their homelands have become so unsafe.
The political establishment tries to reassure them with the argument that the parallels with 1933 are really too much of a stretch.”
Opinion: The closer we get to the time of Jacob’s trouble (Jer. 30:7-8), the more we expect to see headlines like this one, but not for the reasons that the writers are giving.
“How awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it.”
Keep in mind that ‘saved’ in Hebrew means ‘delivered’. God told Jeremiah to tell Jacob (Israel) that they will be protected:
“Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the Lord, ‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid.” Jeremiah 30:10
The tribulation period of 7 years is a time when God will turn His attention to the Jewish people. Bible study groups that teach the church is on earth during that period are mistakenly placing the church as the most important people in God’s economy.
The confusion lies in erroneous teachings that God replaced Israel with the church, since Israel refused to recognize Jesus as Messiah. But, the Church of Jesus Christ and Israel are separate and distinct from one another in God’s plan. The Church Age that began at Pentecost concludes at the Rapture when believers indwelt by the Holy Spirit are taken up (2 Thess. 2:7-8).
“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.”
It is then that God turns His attention to bringing His people, who are meant to be His Servants and Priests (Ex. 19:6.) in the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ, back to covenant relationship with Himself.
The previously raptured Church (2 Thess. 4:16-18) are meant to rule and reign (2 Tim. 2:12).
As for the headline of fear, God is calling His people home to Israel in order to protect them from the wrath to come (Mat. 24:15-16).
