UNESCO Passes Resolution Rejecting Israeli Sovereignty In Jerusalem

Jerusalem On Line: 22 countries voted in favor of the controversial UNESCO resolution that rejects the sovereignty of the State of Israel in Jerusalem while only 10 opposed it. 23 countries abstained from voting while the representatives from three countries did not show up for the vote.

Prior to the vote, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out against the UN organization.

“There’s no other nation in the world for which Jerusalem is as holy and important as it is for the Jewish people, even though a UNESCO discussion today will try to deny this simple truth,” he said during the International Bible Contest in Jerusalem.

“We don’t recognize UNESCO. We believe in our truth, which is the truth.” more …

Opinion: The vote is about Israel’s borders and control of the most important city in the world. The UN, and every progressive political group since the 1967 war, has been trying to give the covenant land to Esau, who is Edom (Genesis 27:41, 36:1).

Yes, Virginia, the struggle is that old.

In all of recorded history, that land was never meant to go to Esau (Genesis 17:7-8). In his final blessing to his twin sons, Isaac made it clear:

To Jacob: “May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness—an abundance of grain and new wine.

May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers,
and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.” (Genesis 27:28-29)

To Esau: “Your dwelling will be away from the earth’s richness, away from the dew of heaven above.

You will live by the sword and you will serve your brother. But when you grow restless,
you will throw his yoke from off your neck.” (Genesis 27:39-40)

The issue of ownership of the land continues with some of Satan’s most treacherous work, that will lead to the final wars of this age (Matthew 24:21).

Earth’s richness is found only in Jerusalem. It is where Jesus Christ will be (Zechariah 14:4; Isaiah 63:1-3; Revelation 19:13-15, 20:1-2) and where Jacob will be revered (Zechariah 8:23).
