Market Watch: North Korea said it conducted a sixth and significantly larger nuclear test Sunday, stepping up pressure on President Donald Trump in what is shaping up to be his biggest foreign-policy crisis.

In a televised statement, North Korea described the underground explosion, which triggered a large earthquake, as a “perfect success in the test of a hydrogen bomb for an ICBM.” Pyongyang said “the creditability of the operation of the nuclear warhead is fully guaranteed.”

The test came just hours after leader Kim Jong Un showed off what he described as a hydrogen bomb capable of being mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile. more …

Opinion: New readers to this website will not know that I made a commitment to my wife (Editor) to take Sunday off, no matter what.

Some weeks are harder than others to keep that promise, in light of breaking news.

While I cannot find any prophecy about a US/North Korea war, there is a verse in Ezekiel 38:13 that could indicate Britain, the US and Saudi Arabia as being powerless in the future war of Gog and Magog.

Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?

  • Sheba and Dedan are cities in Saudi Arabia
  • Merchants of Tarshish represents Spaniards who sailed from Spain to bring back tin (Britain)
  • The lion is the symbol for Britain – young lions may then represent America and colonies. (All three nations are depicted as powerless)

It is how those nations get that way that is unclear. Also it is becoming obvious that Kim Jong Un has ratcheted up the threat, according to yesterday’s Wall Street Journal:

“North Korea’s threats against the U.S. now include a tactic long discussed by some experts: an electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, triggered by a nuclear weapon that would aim to shut down the U.S. electricity grid.

North Korea’s state news agency made a rare reference to the tactic in a Sunday morning release in which the country said it was able to load a hydrogen bomb onto a long-range missile. The bomb, North Korea said, ‘is a multifunctional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated even at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP attack.”

President Trump, on the other hand, when asked, said appeasement will not work:

“South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!”
