The $50 million base was opened on Saturday (Sept. 30) and will train more than 10,000 soldiers. The move is part of an effort to institutionalize and restructure the police and military services, battle the terrorist group al-Shabaab, and help expand the government’s authority into more towns and regions.

Opinion: Clues for the future fulfillment of the Gog Magog invasion of Israel found in Ezekiel 38-39 are just pouring in.
The KJV and NKJV versions list Ethiopia as one of the Gog Magog alliance. I tend to favor the NIV and ESV that instead list Cush (which includes Sudan, Somalia, and Put/Lybia as part of the alliance, also).
Original Hebrew word for Ethiopia: כּוּשׁ – Part of Speech: proper name, masculine person, of a people; Transliteration: Kuwsh – Phonetic Spelling: (koosh) Short Definition: Cush
Cush was the eldest son of Ham, who was a son of Noah. He was the brother of Canaan (curse of Ham) and the father of the Biblical Nimrod mentioned in the “Table of Nations” (Genesis 10:6). The Kingdom of Cush encompassed Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia.
Put was the third son of Ham who settled in Libya.
I have never before considered a connection between between Turkey and the Cush/Put nations as a link to Gog Magog, and yet according to Aljazeera (here) Turkey is Africa’s friend, compatriot and partner.
To that end Turkey has a Sudanese Consulate General in Istanbul, bilateral relations with Somalia which also has an embassy in Ankara, and Turkey maintains an embassy in Mogadishu, and deep-rooted relations with the Libyan people.
- Gog is a prince of (Rosh) Russia; a title of a strong leader.
- Magog is the 2nd son of Japheth (a son of Noah) who settled in what is today Russia
- Meshech and Tubal, once a part of (Turkey/including Armenia.)
Ezekiel 38:5-6 NIV: “Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer (oldest son of Japheth – Turkey) with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah (son of Gomer) from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.”
Imagine, Ezekiel’s prophecy is over 2500 years old.
