Palestinian Statehood: Basic Principles Of Trump’s Israeli-Palestinian Peace Initiative

JOL: The primary principles of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan were revealed for the first time by Channel 2 News. By the understanding of senior Israeli officials intimately engaged with the US negotiating team, Trump plans to offer the Palestinians a state – but under different conditions than in the past, and together with an extensive economic proposal.

According to these Israeli officials, the following are basic principles on which Trump’s peace initiative will be based. After initial doubts, the US president intends to offer the Palestinians a state and is expected to adopt the principle of territorial exchange – though not necessarily founded on the 1967 lines, which have been the basis for past peace initiatives proposed by previous administrations.

Opinion: In an interview with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee on TBN Saturday night, President Trump said this: “I want to give peace a shot before I even think of the embassy”.

The White House appears to be sending out trial balloons of what was not supposed to be released until 2018.

Here are some key points of the plan so far:

  • No deadlines – only targets ranging from 6-24 months
  • No evacuations of either Jews or Arabs
  • No division of Jerusalem
  • Millions in economic development for Palestinians
  • No moving the US embassy for now

Somehow the Trump team believes that by calling deadlines “targets”, and throwing in millions of dollars, peace will be achieved. What undoubtedly will be achieved, however, are Palestinian leaders who are even more wealthy.

How foolish men can be. When the Biblical account of the importance of the unconditional and forever land covenant that God made with Abraham and his descendants after him (Gen. 15:18, 17:7-8; Deut. 19:8-9, 30:1-10) is ignored, chaos is the result.

Five hundred years after Moses, the land under the temple mount was purchased for cash by King David:

  • 1052 BC: David conquered Jerusalem by defeating the Jebusites (1 Chronicles 11:4-9; 2 Samuel 1:5-6).
  • 1010 – 970 BC: Reign of King David. Jerusalem is proclaimed the capital of the United Kingdom of Israel (2 Samuel 5:1-5).
  • 970 BC: In the 40th year of David’s reign, he purchases the threshing floor on Mount Moriah to build a temple to the Lord. God would not allow David to build the temple since he was a man of war (2 Samuel 24:24; 1 Chronicles 22).

And after two dispersions, God promised to restore the descendants of Jacob to the exact same land:

  • Amos 9:14-15
  • Isaiah 11:11-12
  • Isaiah 66:7-8
  • Ezekiel 34:13
  • Ezekiel 37:10-14
  • Ezekiel 37:21-22
  • Jeremiah 16:14-15

No such promise was made to the descendants of Ishmael (Genesis 25:12-17) or to those of Esau who are the Palestinians of today (Genesis 27:41).

If this is the framework for peace between Jacob and Esau, Daniel 9:27 is still not yet.

  1. “I want to give peace a shot before I even think of the embassy”

Those are the words of the super-liberal. Knowing what the PA is like Trump has decided to still go against all common sense, not to mention, God’s Word, and make his own attempts of playing God. Trump seems to be perfectly happy with repeatedly dumping the American Way and instead shoving the Trump Way down the world’s throats. For example, what ever happened to “America does not negotiate with terrorists”? Trump, himself, has called the Palestinians “terrorists”, all the while writing checks for their organization and their families. He has dubbed them terrorists, claims to NOT support terrorism, writes them HUGE checks and says they will keep coming regularly, then says he is sitting down to “negotiate” with said terrorists. Either these things are bold treason or he is dancing around that word with fancy footwork.

Israel will not stand for it much longer. If Netanyahu does not do something to swiftly correct the issues then the next leader should show the actual courage and intelligence to do so.

  2. “If this is the framework for peace between Jacob and Esau, Daniel 9:27 is still not yet.”
Not yet… but, maybe very soon. Things appear to be in place. Maranatha!!!!
