Dr. Jürgen Schefzyk, the director of the Bible House Museum in Frankfurt, wrote the Post by email on Friday: “Following a 2015 memorandum of understanding with the Israel Antiquities Authority concerning cooperation with the Bible Museum Frankfurt we started to work on an exhibition on the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The precondition for such an exhibition is an ‘Immunity from Seizure’ document issued by the German authorities. For reasons that are not in our hand we are at present unable to provide such a document despite all efforts including contacts to all governmental institutions in Germany.” more …
Opinion: I wrote this short paper in 2010:
“The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in eleven caves along the northwest shore of the Dead Sea between the years 1947 and 1956. The Scrolls were most likely written by the Essenes during the period from about 200 BC to 68 AD. The Isaiah Scroll, found relatively intact, is 1000 years older than any previously known copy of Isaiah. In fact, the scrolls are the oldest group of Old Testament manuscripts ever found. The Isaiah Scroll was discovered in Cave 1 in 1947. It was identified as the Biblical Book of Isaiah in 1947 and validated in 1948.
The Isaiah Scroll find settled an old controversy among scholars that since the original manuscript was so long (66 chapters), it might have had more than one author.
The Isaiah Scroll, found in 1947, is the only book of the Old Testament found intact. In 1948 the Isaiah Scroll was validated; that same year, the re-birth of Israel happened exactly as prophesied in the last chapter of Isaiah, Chapter 66, verses 7-8.
“Before she was in labor, she gave birth;
Before her pain came,
She delivered a male child.
Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at once?
For as soon as Zion was in labor,
She gave birth to her children.”
Imagine, if the Isaiah scroll had not been found intact, the likelihood of the last chapter being missing would be very high. Isaiah’s prophecy of a nation being born in one day, literally at once, is a perfect description of what happened on May 14, 1948, 2700 years after Isaiah, when the nations briefly felt remorse for the Holocaust.
During that day, a United Nations mandate expired, ending British control of the land. The declaration of Israel’s independence was scheduled to take effect at 6:00 p.m. Washington time. Eleven minutes after the effective time, one of President Truman’s aides, Charlie Ross, announced that the United States was granting de facto recognition to the new state of Israel. The United States thus became the very first nation to recognize Israel.
Therefore it was during a 24-hour span of time, one day, that foreign control of the land of Israel had formally ceased. Israel was literally born in a single day.
Qumran is in Israel’s West Bank:
The West Bank is a gentile name for Judea and Samaria. That the area is now recognized by the UN as Palestinian means that there must have been Palestinian people with a government existing prior to the 1947 partition plan which offered Arabs a state inside Israel.
No such people have ever existed.
Palestinian was an invention of Yasser Arafat as a name for mostly Jordanian refugees who had been in the area finding work. The UN created UNRWA in 1949 in order to provide aid specifically to Palestinians who fled the area during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war and later the 1967 Six Day War. To do this, the UN changed the definition of refugee from someone who lost an ancestral home to “persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine during the period 1 June 1946 to 15 May 1948, and who lost both home and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 conflict.” (Source Ruth Peters “From Time Immemorial”). UNRWA allows refugee status to be inherited by descendants.
The Dead Sea Scrolls were written by Jewish people about Jewish and Christian Biblical history. That Germany refuses to recognize that may explain why its government is falling apart under the Abrahamic Covenant Genesis 12:3.
