JPost: Twenty-seven years ago, The Jerusalem Post’s Yaakov Kirschen accurately depicted Israel and the Jewish people’s perpetual sense of isolation in a Dry Bones cartoon that featured two men discussing the situation in the world.
“Yup,” the other man replied. “The good news is that the world is UNITED AT LAST!” “And the bad news?” “They’ve united against Israel.” more …
Opinion: Numbers 23:9
“For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.”
It has been that way since time immemorial. A separate people unto the Lord (Gen. 25:23; Deut. 7:6, 14:2.), and it will be that way in the future war of Gog and Magog when there will be no doubt among His chosen that God alone prevented their destruction.
Like so many wars throughout history (Judges 7:22; 1 Sam. 14:20; 2 Chron. 20:22) God will turn Israel’s enemy against each other in total confusion … again:
“I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 38:21-23
The last 9 words, “Then they shall know that I am the Lord”, are critical because 7 years of tribulation are about to begin and God’s chosen will need to return to covenant relationship with Him. They will build their temple, re-institute animal sacrifice (Dan. 9:27) and all God’s children will be called to return to the land …
“Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer.” Ez. 39:28
… so He can protect them from Antichrist
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’[spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Mat. 24:14-16
I am surprised Israel’s prime minister doesn’t know that.
