PENCE MIDDLE EAST TRIP A CAUSE FOR CONCERN IN JORDAN

JPost: US Vice President Mike Pence’s Middle East trip stands out as a positive milestone for the Israeli Right. But for Jordan it looks entirely different.

This is because it has reinforced the sense of the demise of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a core Jordanian interest, perhaps even a matter of survival.

Visiting Amman for talks with King Abdullah, or “Abdoolah,” as Pence pronounced his name, and during his Knesset speech, the vice president reiterated that Israel would have a de facto veto over the emergence of a Palestinian state if it so desires. “President [Donald] Trump has confirmed that if both sides agree, the United States will support a two-state solution,” he told the Knesset. more …

Opinion: The land for peace/two state solution was the brain child of President George H.W. Bush.

NYT March 6, 1991: “Our commitment to peace in the Middle East does not end with the liberation of Kuwait,” Mr. Bush told a joint session of Congress, adding to applause: “The time has come to put an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict.”

In remarks almost certain to be perceived by Israel as a signal that he intends to seek important concessions from its Government, Mr. Bush re-emphasized longstanding American policy that Israel must trade territory that it seized during wars with its Arab neighbors in exchange for peace and secure borders. 3-Minute Ovation.

October 39, 1991 the Madrid Conference:

The four main participants of the conference were:
President George H. W. Bush
Secretary of State James Baker
Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir
Head of the Arab/Palestinian delegation, Haydar Abd al-Shafi

As President George H.W. Bush was opening the Conference to consider “land for peace” and Israel’s Middle East role, the “perfect storm” developed in the North Atlantic, creating the largest waves ever recorded in that region.

The storm traveled 1000 miles from “east to west” instead of the normal “west to east” pattern and crashed into the New England Coast. Thirty-five foot waves pounded Kennebunkport, Maine and destroyed the summer home of the Bush family.

There was no difference between Bush and the progressive left on Israel relinquishing land won in a defensive war, and the land for peace became the mantra for the next 25 years despite the fact that it had been in place since 1922.

In 1919, World War I ended and the Ottoman Empire, which sided with Germany, collapsed. The vast Ottoman Empire was divided up among the allies.

What every politician pretends to forget is that in 1922 Britain gave in to the leaders of the 600,000+ mostly Jordanian people who had been coming to Israel since 1890 as the Jews were making their way home. With the Jews came agricultural development and businesses that needed workers.

In 1922 Britain consented to the Arab League demands and carved out almost 80% of the land designated for the Jewish people and handed it over to the same Arab leaders.

It is astounding how the Bush family never connected the dots to prophecy (Genesis 12:3) or history.
