JPost: Gaza is beyond a “humanitarian crisis” and “on the verge of a total systems failure,” UN Mideast envoy Nickolay Mladenov said Tuesday.

Speaking at the INSS annual conference in Tel Aviv, Mladenov defined a total systems failure as the “full collapse of the economy and social services,” with all the “political, humanitarian and security implications stemming from that.”

Mladenov said that the situation in Gaza needed to be high on the priority of the donor countries to the PA meeting in Brussels on Tuesday for an emergency meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee to address the Palestinian funding crisis, Gaza and the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process. more …

Opinion: Prediction: Donald Trump will be blamed and all anti-Israel progressives will demand that the US and EU step up financial aid.

Never will be heard a discouraging word about the state-of-the-art greenhouses the Palestinian people were given in 2005 when 800 Jewish families were ripped from their homes in exchange for a peace that never came.

The Arabs’ first order of business, before firing rockets, was to destroy the economy-saving greenhouses, synagogues, and every vestige of Jewish life.

That the Gaza Disengagement plan is now a footnote in history is evident in the minds of the Israel-hating left, just as the $100 million spent each year on the group’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, is conveniently omitted as a cause for the growing humanitarian crisis.

According to estimates by both Israeli and Palestinian sources, spending on digging tunnels accounts for some $40 million of that annual sum while importing rockets and all sorts of weapons make up the rest.

The only reason for the existence of Hamas is the destruction of Israel, as stated in their charter. But don’t tell anyone that, it would make you an Islamophobe.

  1. Author!! You must have a wrong set of glasses on! No way is this true! Why, don’t you know that according to the secular liberal view these are peace loving, enterprising, displaced, humble people who regard their women folk and just need jobs to turn things around (For the most part, this is probably true of the the non-PLO/Hamas citizenry). It’s apartheid Israel, the “occupier,” those nasty Jews that are the problem. Now, if they would just concede to give up East Jerusalem…. Author, best you change glasses to be more in tuned with the world view! :>o

  2. Ha! Thanks for the chuckle, Centurion. I don’t know. After the speech last night my husband and I both woke up so down. On the phone just now he said we should be happy and looking forward to the Lord’s return, which we know is soon, but it’s all getting so old. Despite all of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” words, we know what is coming. Looking at all the sourpuss Democrats (the new “we don’t really want a solution, we just want to cause division” Palestinians) in the room and listening to them speak from their blind and lost hearts, it just gets overwhelming at times. It’s like they say – it’s darkest before the dawn. Maybe this will help:

    • Hi Shelley keep in mind that for a while things should be quite good “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark”. The speech felt good for a change.

    • I agree. This political and spiritual paralysis is becoming overwhelming. When the true Church (Big “C”) is taken out, all will become the devil’s playground and the scene with the girl standing in that Gaza destruction will become pandemic.

    • ShelleyB, that’s my go-to song and at times like these it’s perfect. I’ve always heard the Alison Krauss version, not Gillian Welch’s. I’ll have to add that one.

And you couldn’t be more correct when you said:

“Despite all of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” words, we know what is coming.”

      Luke 24:44 (ESV)
44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
