In modern capitalist economies, foreign trade and investments have become all-important. Peace therefore brings unique dividends. As long as China and the USA are at peace, the Chinese can prosper by selling products to the USA, trading in Wall Street and receiving US investments.
Trade is the ultimate peacemaker. When two people–or peoples–benefit from one another, they only hurt themselves by hurting the other.
While the price of war soared, its profits declined. For most of history, polities could enrich themselves by looting or annexing enemy territories. Most wealth consisted of fields, cattle, slaves and gold, so it was easy to loot it or occupy it. Today, wealth consists mainly of human capital, technical know-how and complex socio-economic structures such as banks. Consequently it is difficult to carry it off or incorporate it into one’s territory.
The New World Order is coming. But it is being built on the foundation of individual liberty, freedom to prosper and trade. The Empire of the Internet will enforce peace on all of earth, within the borders of the One World Marketplace. more …

Secular men see a very different world than Bible-believing Christians. US progressives speak of men solving human suffering by opening borders and welcoming all men into the prosperity that the United States enjoys, never connecting the dots that by doing so all will experience suffering.
The UN wants to bring peace through wealth redistribution and a two-state solution that will create a sovereign Arab state with Israel’s capital in Jerusalem.
Russia wants peace by restoring the Soviet Empire to its former ruthless self, and China wants peace by controlling the world economically and militarily with an iron hand.
Good luck with that.
The only book in the world that has a perfect track record of forecasting world events is mostly ignored, and its followers are generally referred to as kooks. Of the 1800 (+or-) prophecies written in God’s word, over 1300 have been perfectly fulfilled and approximately 500 remain.
The peace that men dream of (Revelation 20:1-2) will only come after a series of wars (Psalm 83:1-8; Ezekiel 38-39; Revelation 16:16) and a time of trial that Jesus said must be cut short or no flesh would survive (Matthew 24:22).
