Joel Rosenberg: Since the early hours of Saturday morning until this very moment as I write this column at 9:00pm Saturday night, terrorists in Gaza have unleashed a relentless series of violent attacks at Jewish civilians in southern Israel.
So far, more than 90 rockets and mortar shells have hit Israel. The Iron Dome has shot down some of them. But there has been property damage and at least three Israeli civilians have been injured.
It grieves us that tens of thousands of Israelis along the southern tier have spent all or much of the day in bomb shelters — many of them not air-conditioned — amidst temperatures hovering between 90 and 100 degrees. more …
Opinion: At the same time, Debkafile reports “Massive Syrian-Hizballah Golan war preparations tie IDF down from reining in Gaza terror”.
With Israel under threat from both Hamas in the southwest and Hezbollah in the north, the prophecy found in Psalm 83:1-8 takes on tremendous significance:
“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.’
They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more. With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you.”
(The battle cry of the alliance is conspicuous in its similarity to Israel’s enemies Hamas and Hezbollah today)
