Pope wants rosary prayed to protect Church from devil’s ‘turbulence’

Crux: ROME – In a move suggesting Pope Francis believes the Church is in a moment of “spiritual turbulence,” the pontiff is asking Catholics around the world to pray the rosary every day during the month of October for protection of the Church from the devil.

The daily praying of the rosary during the “Marian month of October,” a Vatican statement Saturday said, will unite the faithful “in communion and penance, as a people of God, in asking the Holy Mother of God and St. Michael the Archangel to protect the Church from the devil, who always aims to divide us from God and among us.”

The statement also says that, as the pope noted during his daily homily on Sept. 11, prayer is the weapon against “the Great accuser who ‘travels around the world looking for accusations.” more …

Opinion: One of our readers thanked me for “not looking for the church on every “street corner” of prophecy, which is precisely what Catholic dogma does.

Nowhere in Scripture are we told to pray to Mary for intercession:

In the OT the role of a mediator in prayer is seen in Daniel 9:1-27 in one of the most beautiful intercessions as Daniel prayed for his people, the Israelites, who were in captivity in Babylon.

In the NT Romans 8:34 clearly identifies Jesus as our intercessor to God the Father:

“Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”

Since Mary of the Bible acknowledged Jesus as savior (Luke 1:47) she is also asleep in death and awaiting the return of her son Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thess. 14:16-18). And since Ecc.9:5 teaches that “the dead know nothing” Mary cannot hear the prayes offered to her.

And nowhere in Scripture is the Archangel Michael the protector of the Church:

Daniel 12:1 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people [people of Israel], will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.”

The scene is the Great Tribulation: Satan will attempt to eradicate every descendant of Abraham (Rev. 12:5) in a time of unprecedented distress for Israel. Satan’s attack is an effort to prevent the return of Christ.

Michael is the protector of Israel.

In the coming weeks we will post our paper “Two Trains Israel and the Church in Prophecy”. We ask you to pray for us as we are in need of a new technician. Our former relationship can no longer handle a small site and so far estimates are very high.

  1. Opps! Author, don’t you know that the “church” is Israel that’s why we need to pray to Archangel Michael (LoL – if it weren’t so tragic)? Looking forward to your “Two trains” prophecy post! This latest “poperri” is another in a long string of RC church pronouncements that church tradition out ranks God’s Word!

  2. Hey Author and Editor,
I am and will be praying for the paper to be posted and for a new technician that meets your budget. I just wanted to thank you again for this site. I go to many prophecy sited and I often find news here that no one else posts. You are really a news sleuth!!! And, of course, I always look forward to reading your take on things.

Also, just letting you know I haven’t been around much since both our sons and their wives had babies eight (yes, God’s number for “new beginnings!!!) days apart on 8/29 (an 9lb. 4oz. boy) and 9/6 (an 8lb. 1oz. girl). All are doing well and God be praised for his grace and goodness, and in this case especially, his creative wonders. How, indeed, can anyone look at a newborn and say there is no God? I will never understand that.

Anyhow, thank you again and you are all (Vason, Centurion, Carlisle, and all those who read, but don’t post) in my prayers. God Bless

  3. Congratulations and our earnest prayers for God’s face to shine upon your 2 newborns and all your other grandchildren!
We do praise God for His creative wonders, they are magnificent and beyond comparison!
Author and I are eagerly awaiting a granddaughter in mid-December, the first child for our youngest son.
Thank you, Shelley, for supporting our efforts!

  4. Congratulations Shelley B! Two newborns – one for each arm! One of my favorite pics shows my wife (grandma) with our oldest son’s newborn twin daughters being held in each of gramdma’s arms. :))
