American Military News: German Chancellor Angela Merkel is calling for the eventual creation of a European army, echoing a suggestion by French President Emmanuel Macron that recently angered the U.S. president.
“What is really important, if we look at the developments of the past year, is that we have to work on a vision of one day creating a real, true European army,” Merkel said in a speech before the European Parliament in Strasbourg on November 13.
“A common European army would show the world that there will never again be war between European countries,” she said.
Merkel said she envisioned a European army that would function in parallel with NATO and come under a European Security Council, centralizing the continent’s defense structure. more …
Opinion: Almost like Mrs. Merkel was reading from Scripture.
“It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation” Revelation 13:7.
When he arrives on the scene, he will be a peace maker (Rev. 6:1-2), he will amass great power (Dan. 7:8-9) and will need a mighty army to overcome the nations.
War and rumors of war (Rev. 6:3-4; Mat. 24:6) followed by famine and economic distress (Mat. 24:7; Rev. 6:5-6), and widespread death (Mat. 24:7; Rev. 6:7-8).
So how does one man accomplish all that in just 7 years? Easy – read the first 5 words of the above verse again: “It was granted to him …”
With the church of Jesus Christ having been taken up (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18), the global empire of Antichrist will be granted 7 years to separate God’s people from Satan’s people. In case you think that during the judgments all will turn to God, think again:
“Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory” Rev. 16:8-9.
“Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds” Rev. 16:10-11.
But a remnant will turn to Him. Zechariah 12:10 says the common men from Judea and those from the royal line of David will turn to Him and be saved.
