Netanyahu’s East Africa trip is worth every penny

YNet News: Symbols are what tie a nation together, a projection of power and strength. Therefore, despite the high price tag of Netanyahu’s trip to Africa, it is all worth it to help Israel come back to the strong nation-state it used to be.

Opinion: I have been following PM Netanyahu’s trip all week. While wonderful speeches were made and great optimism shared, the prophetic scenario is not so rosy.

Netanyahu visited Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia and met with 7 African leaders. According to a paper called “Strategic Thinking on East Africa” Russia has been making inroads on African energy.

“In cultivating relations with African states out of favor with the West, Russia appears to be promoting a bloc of sanctioned countries in defiance of the world order that Western countries have been pursuing.

The quieter but dramatic Russian engagement in Africa is multipronged, including the acquisition of valuable energy and mineral assets, which in the case of natural gas is likely part of an effort to maintain energy leverage over Western Europe.”

While the West is busy trying to shut down oil and gas production in favor of green alternative energy, Vladimir Putin is roaming the world forming energy partnerships and promising military cooperation in an effort to maintain his number one customer, Europe, and control the world’s energy.

“Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.” Ezekiel 38;5

I often wondered what would motivate the African nations of Cush (Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia) and Put (Libya) to join in on a Russian-led attack on Israel.

The last 5 words of the verse “the many nations with you” just may include additional East African nations.
