JPost: “Should the US embassy be moved to Jerusalem, the Middle East will enter a “crisis no one will be able to overcome,” official Palestinian news agency Wafa quoted Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as saying Friday.
“We heard a lot of statements relating to moving the US embassy, which we hope are not correct and will not be implemented, but if implemented then the peace process in the Middle East, and even peace in the world, will be in a crisis we will not be able to come out from.”
Opinion: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me, The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”
How ironic that the Edomite Abbas wants to meet in Bethlehem, the place where during the temple period the sacrificial lambs were birthed, and wrapped in swaddling cloths to protect them from being bruised.
Jesus was prophesied to be born there 700 years before the event (Micah 5;2). Jesus was/is the Kinsman Redeemer (Leviticus 25:25; Ruth 1-4), a spotless (sinless) lamb who was/is willing to redeem. Bethlehem in Hebrew means house of bread – Jesus is the Bread of life, John 6:35.
How fascinating that Bethlehem is under 5 miles from Jerusalem, the city where Donald Trump has promised to move the US embassy. And it was in Jerusalem where, in 586 BC, Abbas’ forefathers aided the Babylonian army in the destruction of the city and sanctuary (Daniel 9:26; Obadiah 1:12-14).
It is Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital, that the nations declare that the Jews have no connection with whatsoever and yet it is in Jerusalem where Jesus Christ will return (Zechariah 14:4) to reign 1000 years (Revelation 20:1-2).
Jerusalem is the only city in the Bible that we are told to pray for and are promised blessing in return (Psalm 122:6). There has never been a better time than now.
