WND: The Muslim Brotherhood is spending millions of dollars to lobby Washington to avoid being designated a terror organization.

In November 2016, immediately after Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential elections, the movement began preparing to counter U.S. moves to designate it terrorist,” MEMRI said.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., introduced such a bill in 2015, and in January it was introduced again. more

Opinion: From Investors Business Daily (here) February 25, 2015: “The legislation — which freezes Brotherhood assets and also outs its front groups, including hundreds in the U.S. — is headed for the House floor. Its passage there is likely since the GOP leadership supports HR 3892, which has 28 co-sponsors and is steadily gaining new backers each week.

If a companion bill introduced in the Senate by GOP Sen. Ted Cruz passes, it would tee the ban up for a GOP president to sign into law — a dream of FBI case agents across the country, who find elements of the Brotherhood showing up in virtually every terrorism case they work.

The pro-jihad Brotherhood gave rise to Hamas and al-Qaida, and shares ideology with ISIS.”

The Muslim Brotherhood lost a friend in Barack Obama. From the invitation to the 2009 Cairo speech, to selling the world that the Brotherhood had become a moderate group that denounced terror, the Brotherhood’s true colors were on full display in 2012 as they turned Egypt into a terror hell-hole after Mohamed Morsi won the presidency.

Egypt’s military general Abdel Fattah el Sisi staged a coup to rid Egypt of the Brotherhood menace and went on to become Egypt’s president in 2013. Since then, the US/Egypt relations have been in shambles.

El Sisi is scheduled to meet Donald Trump at the White House in early April.

Muslim Brotherhood front groups (Muslim Students Association (MSA), Islamic Society of North America (INSA) and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR – designated a terror group by the United Arab Emirates) have become deeply embedded in US government and colleges.
