JPost: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel opposes the US-Russian-brokered cease-fire in Syria because it perpetuates Iran’s military presence in the country. Diplomatic sources said that Iran wants to establish air, land and sea bases in Lebanon, something Jerusalem cannot tolerate.

Netanyahu’s objection came during a two-hour meeting the two leaders held in the Élysée Palace, after a ceremony earlier in the day marking 75 years since the roundup and deportation of more than 13,000 French Jews during the Holocaust.

Netanyahu told Israeli journalists that in addition to Hezbollah’s presence in Lebanon, Hamas is also attempting to gain a foothold there. more …

Opinion: Prophecy in headlines. Hezbollah’s benefactor is also Hamas’ benefactor. Both Hezbollah and Hamas appear to be conspicuous in Psalm 83, but it was not always so.

  • Psalm 83 was penned over 3000 years ago
  • Hezbollah was formed in 1985
  • Hamas was formed in 1987
  • Iran is supplying both with funding and weapons

The Psalm 83 Alliance:

For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia (Gaza/Hamas) with the inhabitants of Tyre (southern Lebanon/Hezbollah)Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot.”

Since Hezbollah has only been inhabiting southern Lebanon (Tyre) for the last 30 years, the prophecy could not have taken place before that time.

Also, Hamas has only been in charge in Gaza (Philistia) since 2005. From Israel’s rebirth in 1948 to 1967, Gaza was under the control Egypt. After the 1967 war, Gaza came under Israeli control until 2005. Therefore Hamas could not have attacked Israel until then.

Bible prophecy covers thousands of years in the blink of an eye. Awesome.

  1. How “allied” to the members of the “alliance” have to be?
The fact that they have to “form” a confederacy shows that they are not all buddies.
Have they acknowledged a common goal yet and started to work together?
Or will that only happen just before they take action as a “confederacy”?

    • In chapter 7 of Blood Feud we separated each of the Psalm 83 invaders as to whether they were descendants of Edom or Ishmael:

Excerpt: Psalm 83:6-8 (notice that the Psalm 83 invaders represent both Edom and Ishmael (a reference to the marriage of Easu to Ishmael’s daughter).

Edom and Amalek – (Palestinians of southern Israel) – Edomites/Sunni
      Philistia – (Palestinians of Gaza) – Edomites/Sunni
Ammon, Moab – (Arabs of central and northern Jordan) – Edomites/Sunni
Gebal and Tyre – (Arabs of northern (Sunni) and southern Lebanon (Shia) – mixed
Assyria – (Arabs of Syria and northern Iraq) – Edomites (Medes) -mixed
Ishmaelites – (Arabs of Saudi Arabia) – Ishmaelites/Sunni

You are correct that they are not all “buddies” but they do have a common denominator, they all hate Jacob (Gen. 35:10). I think that war is just waiting for the right spark and could happen at any time.
