Arutz Sheva: With all eyes on Israel’s southern front where Hamas is desperately trying to conceal the fact it has run out of military options in its never ending war against the Jewish State, Hezbollah and the pro-Assad axis seem to be gearing up for the long anticipated confrontation with the IDF.
Iranian and Israeli media reported last week that the pro-Assad coalition is preparing for an offensive against Islamist rebel groups in the Kuneitra and Daraa provinces in southern Syria.
The pro-Assad axis, which includes Hezbollah and other Shiite militias, has reportedly deployed tanks and heavy artillery on the Syrian Golan Heights.
Some of the weaponry is placed within the demilitarized buffer zone along the Israeli border, a clear violation of the 1974 armistice agreement between Syria and Israel which officially ended the Yom Kippur War. more …
Opinion: Iran is the primary patron of at least three of the Psalm 83:1-8 armies:
- Edom: Palestinians of the West Bank
- Philistia: Palestinians of Gaza
- Amalek: Palestinians of the Sinai
That Russia is aiding the Iranian axis makes the prophecy of Ezekiel 38:8 even more compelling:
“After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.”
Israel has never lived in safety but will live in a false peace after her immediate neighbors are defeated.
After many days: Israel was restored as a nation on May 14, 1948; the temple was destroyed in AD 70, or approx. 712,080 (Jewish calendar) days.
Called to arms: Gog (prince of Russia) will prepare for war
In future years: latter time (prophetic for future time)
A land that has recovered from war: Future war, possibly Psalm 83
Whose people were gathered from many nations: Diaspora, scattered to the whole world after destruction of the temple
To the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate: Possibly Golan Heights, also future gathering in Edom (Zechariah 12:10) before the return of Christ
And now all of them live in safety: Future time when Israel’s neighbors are defeated (Isaiah 17:1,14; Psalm 83:1-8).
