Almost 7-in-10 Americans have “news fatigue”, more so among Republicans

Pew Research: If you feel like there is too much news and you can’t keep up, you are not alone. A sizable portion of Americans are feeling overwhelmed by the amount of news there is, though the sentiment is more common on the right side of the political spectrum, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted from Feb. 22 to March 4, 2018.

Almost seven-in-ten Americans (68%) feel worn out by the amount of news there is these days, compared with only three-in-ten who say they like the amount of news they get.

  1. The first thing that came to mind upon reading this article was that it is something made up by people who are lazy, entitled, liberal-minded, woe-is-me pansies. Sure, there is a lot more “news” these days compared to, say, 30 years ago. But just like with other phony television programming, if it bothers you that much you can turn it off very easily.

When I had read this article the other day, I thought it strange that something like this has actually made the news. Maybe I fail to understand if there really is a meaningful purpose to this article (aside from my thoughts in the previous paragraph), but if I did miss some important point then I am sure there will be a news article about it.

  2. Your Opinion section gave me a good laugh. With the mountain of news that comes out daily, I often picture your workday like this:

You know, “news fatigue” was something the Obama Administration used to its advantage. They mastered the art of creating news fatigue so they could sneak through some of their outlandishly radical and evil policies. This syndrome created an indifference with many voters and allowed much of the lunacy to continue unchallenged.

Can you imagine what news fatigue will look like after the Rapture? Think for a second what the headlines will look like. There will be so much noise in the news it will be impossible to follow it all and because of the inevitable fatigue that will follow, what do you think are the chances people will remember what students of prophecy warned them about? The correct answer is zip, zilch, and of course nada.
