The Times of Israel: German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned Saturday that Washington’s plan to swiftly pull its soldiers out of Syria risks allowing Russia and Iran to boost their role in the region.
Islamic State jihadists have been boxed in to a scrap of land in the battle for their last remaining territory in northeastern Syria and their final defeat is expected imminently.
Once they are defeated, US forces are set to soon withdraw after President Donald Trump in December announced the pullout of around 2,000 troops. more …
Opinion: ISIS may be defeated but the ideology that created the terror group will never be defeated by men. It is too old, too deep, and too toxic. Only God can defeat Satan.
“So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.” Genesis 27:41.
In the spring of 2012 to 2014 Barack Obama said in countless speeches, ‘Osama bin laden is dead and al Qaeda’ is on the run. But there was a problem. A new group began making news, they were so terrifying that when they entered a town, opposing forces tore off their uniforms and ran like scared chickens.
Their ruthlessness was beyond western sensibilities and they were taking town after town claiming they would build the caliphate. They went by the name Islamic State, of whom Obama called the junior varsity.
First the good news:
ISIS, as they became known, terrified the world for 4 years, until a billionaire business man said enough! Donald Trump removed the Obama restrictions on the military’s use of power and went after ISIS with tremendous force.
Now the bad news:
Neither al Qaeda or ISIS are the problem, the hatred is the problem and it is in the blood: “Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
Mrs. Merkel is correct. The US’s upcoming exit from Syria will not only boost Russia and Iran, but also fulfill Ezekiel 38. In the war of Gog and Magog, no nation comes to Israel’s side, as none will even be in the area.
God Himself provides the victory (Ezekiel 38:18-24).
