Zero Hedge: As traders focused on bank earnings and the outlook for global growth, NBC News wrested the market’s attention back toward Facebook by publishing a report on what appears to be the largest leak of internal documents since the data privacy scandal that has dogged the company for more than a year erupted with the first reports about Cambridge Analytica’s ‘improper’ leveraging of Facebook user data to influence elections.

Some 4,000 pages of documents shared with the network news organization by a journalist affiliated with the ICIJ, the same organization that helped bring us the Panama Papers leaks, revealed that Facebook had employed sensitive user data as a bargaining chip to attract major advertisers and close other deals between 2011 and 2015, when the company was struggling to cement its business model following its botched 2012 IPO.

As the documents show, CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his board found ways to tap the company’s massive trove of user data to reward Facebook’s customers and business partners. more

Opinion: I’m pretty sure what I am about to say will NOT help with the fact that Facebook has been censoring a number of our posts saying:

“Your post goes against our community standards, so only you can see it”

What is equally curious is why our Facebook (only) reader hits have shrunk by 99% after a robust opening week.

And it is not just Facebook. We announced a few weeks ago that we would open the blog to advertising in order to help with technology costs and guess what, Google AdSense turned us down as well.

It could be worse. According to Barbwire (.com) a Christian website we are exploring, a recent post “Here Comes The Internet Czar” says this:

“Britain, a country with no First Amendment to protect free speech, is preparing to set up an “Internet safety czar” to promote “Internet safety” and prevent “online harms,” with full powers to regulate the social media and shut sites down if he sees fit. “Huge fines” will also be on the menu.” read more

Editor and I appreciate that so far while the media giants have made it difficult to find our posts on internet searches, our direct readers, and the time spent per session have grown, and that is what keeps us going.

  1. I am not surprised that you don’t pass the “liberal” screening process. Heck, you don’t advocate for democrats, LBGTQ, pedophiles, fake news or those poor “Palestinians”.
I say the heck with them. We will have to do it the old fashion way, word of mouth.
God deals with remnants and small groups. So if your following is a small group then you are probably doing something right.
You keep posting and I’ll keep reading.
