Netanyahu last week said in a television interview that he will apply Israeli sovereignty over Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria if he is re-elected. Netanyahu’s Likud party won 36 seats in this week’s Knesset elections.
Representative Eliot Engel, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said they backed Israel’s security but were “greatly concerned” about prospects that the Jewish state will unilaterally annex parts of Judea and Samaria.
“We hope that any security measures are implemented within the context of preserving the eventual possibility of a two-state solution”. more …
Opinion: The 4 Democrat lawmakers are using Barack Obama’s May 19, 2011 talking points that would force Israel back to the 1967 borders, placing the Jewish state in grave danger. Arab armies would have tremendous advantage on all sides of Israel in future wars.
PM Netanyahu’s annexation of the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), will, for all intents and purposes, put an end to the ridiculous idea of a two state solution.
West Bank of what?
The Biblical lands of Judea and Samaria are known to the world as the West Bank, which is not only an insult to Jewish people, but incorrect. From the Israeli side of the Jordan River, Judea and Samaria, Israel’s heartland, are on the East bank.
The term “West Bank,” which came about as result of Jordan’s imperialist effort to expand its borders at the cost of the Jewish State, is only as old as 1948. Before the Jordanian invasion, this region was always called Judea and Samaria.
That Prime Minister Netanyahu is planning to annex (forcible acquisition) Judea and Samaria is an interesting clue as to what is contained in President Trump’s planned peace plan.
It also aligns with God’s plan:
“In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates” Genesis 12:18.
