Jewish Press: Rav Lior: The Torah giant, the Ramban, clearly rules that dwelling in the Land of Israel is a Torah commandment in force at all times – even in galut. He explains that we are obligated to conquer the land, dwell in it, and keep it under Jewish sovereignty for all eternity.

Our true place is in Israel, not America or France. Did the Master of the World bring us out of Egypt to live in Honolulu or Brooklyn? The thought is absurd.  more …

Opinion: What the esteemed Rabbi does not say is who is us? For a clue we need to go to the New Testament and the great Apostle Paul:

“But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel” Romans 9:6.

So what did Paul mean? Are there those who call themselves Jews but are not?

Keep in mind the patriarchs, beginning with Abraham, and continuing with Moses, David, and Solomon had a tendency to marry outside the family line, and choose foreign concubines also. Yet, they instructed their followers not to do the same (Deuteronomy 7:3-4; Ezra 9:1-2.

  • Abraham slept with the handmaiden Hagar and produced a son Ishmael Genesis 16:2-4
  • Abraham’s second wife Katurah produced 6 sons Genesis 25:2
  • Moses’ second wife Zipporah produced 2 sons Exodus 2:21, 18:4
  • David had 300 wives, committed adultery with Bathseba 1 Chronicles 3; 2 Samuel 11
  • Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines who led him away from the true God (1 Kings 11:1-5)

The offspring, without fail, resented (self-loathing) ther Israelite blood and in many cases took idol-worshiping wives: Esau took 4 Hittite wives and a concubine Timna, mother of Amalek, the one with whom God swore to have war generation after generation Exodus 17:16.

So who is Israel? The sons of Jacob (and descendants), who married in the family line.

After the still future war of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38-39), the true line of Abraham Isaac and Jacob will be divinely drawn back to the land for protection from Antichrist (Matthew 24:15-16) ending the diaspora …

“then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land , and left none of them captive any longer” Ezekiel 39:28.

… and then the tribulation will begin.
