Arutz Sheva: The Palestinian Authority has accelerated its efforts to seize land in Area C of Judea and Samaria – which is under full Israeli control – over the past decade, with an orchestrated campaign of illegal construction projects, a watchdog group warned Friday.
In a reported released Friday morning, the Regavim organization, which monitors illegal Arab construction in Israel, detailed the extent of the illegal construction projects carried out in Area C over the last ten years with the support of the Palestinian Authority.
The master plan for this comprehensive, strategic operation was publicized ten years ago, according to Regavim.
Known as the Fayyad Plan for the Creation of the State of Palestine, then-prime minister of the Palestinian Authority Salaam Fayyad laid out a clear and methodical program for seizing control of territory in Area C to form a broad and viable basis for the Palestinian state, specifically in the areas under Israeli control. more …
Opinion: It is important to keep in mind that the area of Judea and Samaria, land the secular world calls the West Bank, is divided into 3 areas:
- Area A – Arab controlled – 18%
- Area B – Arab controlled/Israeli security – 22%
- Area C – Israeli controlled – 60%
On Friday, the Regavim movement (pro-settler Israeli NGO that monitors and pursues legal action in the Israeli court system) revealed new, worrisome data regarding the Palestinian Authority’s takeover of land in Area C in Judea and Samaria, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s tacit cooperation.
Initially, Area C comprised 74% of the “West Bank,” but under the 1998 Wye River Memorandum, Israel withdrew from an additional 13%, officially reducing Area C to about 61% of the land between the Jordan River and the 1949 armistice line.
That the PA will never be content with land they have and are continuing to take additional land, is a fulfillment of the prophecy found in Malachi 1:1-4.
In Malachi 1:1-3 God contrasts His treatment of Jacob and Esau by showing His love for Israel and hatred for Esau who disobeyed:
- Esau sold his birthright, Genesis 25:29-34
- Esau spurned circumcision, (Talmud/extra biblical – here)
- Esau took Hittite wives, Genesis 26:34-35
- Esau promised to kill Jacob, Genesis 27:41
Malachi 1:4: “Even though Edom has said, “We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places …”
The land of Edom (Mt. Seir) was destroyed in approximately 600 BC and became a mound of ruins as Jeremiah 49:87-8 prophesied. Esau’s descendants fled and the next time we find them is in Judea in 586 BC helping to destroy Solomon’s temple as detailed in Obadiah 1:1-17.
Today Edom is back in Judea in a final effort to take back their ancestor’s lost heritage.
” … “They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever.”
Notice again the contrast: Jacob is the Holy Land God will bless – Esau the land of wickedness God will destroy (Obadiah 1:18) upon His coming (Isaiah 63:1-3).
