‘Why mourn the Temple – we’ve had the Temple Mount for 52 years’

Arutz Sheva: The Temple Institute has released a powerful new video to awaken world Jewry and reframe the traditional period of mourning into one of preparation for the rebuilding of the Third Holy Temple.

Although millions of Jews worldwide will fast on the Ninth of Av (observed this year on the evening of August 10-11th) and strictly adhere to the other halachic (Jewish law) requirements of mourning the destruction of the two Holy Temples, for too many the concept of rebuilding the Temple is like a far-away dream. These are the people the Temple Institute wishes to awaken from their slumber.

The video is the seventh in the series which began as the “Children are Ready” which has accumulated over 1 million views on the Temple Institute’s YouTube page.

The video challenges the viewers’ preconceptions of Tisha B’Av as a day of eternal mourning, evoking Isaiah’s promise that the Third Temple is the secret of world peace and harmony and the hope of all mankind: “And it shall be at the end of days, that the mountain of the Temple of Hashem will be firmly established as the head of the mountains, and it will be exalted above all the hills, and all the nations will stream to it.” more …

Opinion: One of the highlights of our trip to Israel was on the last day when we visited the Temple Institute here.

The preparations for the third temple are completed and waiting for the Lord’s timing. The question is often asked: Will there be 3 temples or 4?

Since the Bible is silent on the number of temples, the idea of four temples comes from Christian Bible teachers, whereas Jewish scholars teach three: Solomon’s Temple, Zerubabbel /Herod’s Temple, and Ezekiel’s Temple (Ezekiel 40-43)

I am lined up with the 3 temple group, since the #3 is a number of the triune God.

God is one God in 3 persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is the number of the Godhead. Man has a 3-fold nature: body, soul, and spirit. There were 3 sections to Solomon’s temple:

  • the Great or Outer Court, where people assembled to worship (Jeremiah 19:14; 26:2);
  • the Inner Court (1 Kings 6:36) or Court of the Priests (2 Chronicles 4:9).

Israel would be given to the Jewish people 3 times. God gave Abraham 3 “I wills.” 3 temples in Israel are called for in Scripture; the 3rd temple will be built during the 7-year Tribulation period (Matt. 24:15-212 Thess. 2:1-4Rev. 11:1-2). The Bible says there will be a 3rd world war at the end of the 7 year Tribulation period (Daniel 11:40-45). source

That the 3rd, or tribulation temple described in Daniel 9:27, will be defiled by Antichrist is given remedy by the cleansing of the 2nd temple as described in the Maccabean Revolt that lasted from 167 to 160 BC. Judah Maccabee was a Jewish priest and a son of the priest Mattathias who led the Maccabees against the Seleucid Empire of the evil Antiochus Ephipanes who defiled the temple by slaughtering a pig on the holy altar that led to the miracle of Hanukkah (here).

By that reasoning, upon His triumphant return, Jesus will cleanse that 3rd temple where He will rule and reign for 1000 years. Revelation 20:1-2.

Watch for our post on Tisha B’ Av that begins later today at sundown.
