Jerusalem Online: Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has said that he would use America’s $3.8 billion military aid to Israel as leverage in political discussions.

“I think that the aid is leverage to guide Israel in the right direction,” Buttigieg told a student during a Q&A session at the University of Chicago. “If, for example, there is a follow-through on these threats of annexation, I’m committed to ensuring that the U.S. is not footing the bill for that.”

“I’m not going to commit now to all of the ways that leverage can and should be used,” he added

Buttigieg’s remarks echoed comments made by Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren on Sunday. more …

Opinion: Here, Fido, sit up and you will get a treat.

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14

Discussing Israel with a secular Jew, or non-literal (Amillennial/Postmillennial) Bible believer, often leads to frustration and impasse. That person can be smart and have a nosebleed level IQ, but lacks wisdom:

“For the LORD gives wisdom: out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

So what is the story with President Trump? Is he a Bible believer or is he just called by God for the purpose of protecting Israel? Since only God knows for sure, President Trump is often compared to Cyrus the Great, a Gentile politician who displayed wisdom concerning the Jews.

In one of the most amazing prophecies of the Bible, Isaiah predicts Cyrus’ decree to free the Jews one hundred fifty years before Cyrus lived. Isaiah 44:28 calls him by name and gives details of Cyrus’ benevolence to the Jews:

“This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him . . . ‘I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me”.

James 1:5-8 is a message to all people:

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

  1. Amazing how certain people can use the threat of withholding military aid for political gain…and some can not.
Nothing new in DC, hypocrisy. Do as I say, not as I do.
