Scalfari: Pope Francis Told Me That Jesus Incarnate Was a ‘Man … Not at All a God’

CNS News: In the latest edition of La Repubblica, Pope Francis’ longtime atheist friend and interviewer, Eugenio Scalfari, claims that the Pope told him that once Jesus Christ became incarnate, he was a man, a “man of exceptional virtues” but “not at all a God.”

The teaching of the Catholic Church and most Christian churches is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was incarnated as fully man and fully God.

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human. He became truly man while remaining truly God. Jesus Christ is true God and true man. During the first centuries, the Church had to defend and clarify this truth of faith against the heresies that falsified it. (464)” more …

Opinion: Once again, neither Pope Francis nor Eugenio Scalfari recorded the conversation.

September 2013: Pope Francis reportedly told Scalfari “proselytism is “solemn nonsense” and that “there is no Catholic God” — also wasn’t recorded.

July 19, 2014: Pope Francis spoke to Scalfari about failings of the modern family, the nature of divine forgiveness and possible changes to the discipline of priestly celibacy – not recorded

March 30, 2018: Pope Francis reportedly told Scalfari that those who die in a state of mortal sin: “They are not punished. Those who repent obtain God’s forgiveness and take their place among the ranks of those who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot be forgiven disappear. A hell doesn’t exist, the disappearance of sinning souls exists.” Once again the conversation was unrecorded.

October 10, 2019: Francis reportedly said “Jesus Incarnate Was a ‘Man … Not at All a God’ not only diminishes the cross and over 300 prophecies, but implies multiple gods.

While we agree that there is no Catholic God, and no Biblical requirement on celibacy, Catholic dogma, which Francis is supposed to uphold, stands in opposition. So why does he continue knowing that these unrecorded conversations with a 90 year old atheist journalist turn his church upside down? And why doesn’t he clarify?

and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” 1 John 4:3

The spirit of God must be distinguished from false spirits. Does this pope not know that many false prophets have gone out into the world and that the only way to test these false spirits is by their attitude towards Jesus Christ?

The 1.3 billion Catholics in the world that follow this pope are following the doctrine of Antichrist, unrecorded.
