Times of Israel: LONDON — The Church of England admitted Thursday that centuries of Christian anti-Semitism helped lead to the Holocaust.

In a major report that was three years in the making, England’s established church cited “the attribution of collective guilt to the Jewish people for the death of Christ and the consequent interpretation of their suffering as collective punishment sent by God” as being among the ideas that “contributed to fostering the passive acquiescence if not positive support of many Christians in actions that led to the Holocaust.”

The report, “God’s Unfailing Word: Theological and Practical Perspectives on Christian–Jewish Relations,” also urged Christians to accept the importance of Zionism for most Jews. more …

Opinion: Hallelujah! Imagine if Christians simply read and studied the Scriptures literally, the way the Apostles studied the Old Testament.

Imagine that the only anti-Semitism in the world came from Islamic nations and secular Gentiles. Imagine that all Christians attending services heard of God’s love for the Jewish people, and His plan to save them. Imagine every Christian knowing that it is because of the Jews that we Gentiles were grafted onto the tree and can be called a child of God (Eph.2:11-13, 2:19; Rom. 11:17). Imagine.

But that’s not what is happening. Most, possibly 90%, of Christian denominations adhere to either Replacement Theology or Covenant theology. The former teaches that God is finished with the Jew and all the promises He made with Abraham and his people after him (Genesis 17:7-8) were cancelled and transferred to the church. The latter theology by- passes that and says all God’s saved people are Israel.

Top it off with Amillennial teaching that the word of God is not to be taken literally, but interpreted for the people by the leaders of the church. What do you have?

Anti-Semitism affecting over 1 billion Christians.

There is another way. In the 1800’s a literal approach to reading Scripture began picking up where the Apostles left off. Critics say Dispensational Theology is too new. They say it has not withstood the test of time.

Take a look at what Daniel was told by an angel after prophesying the final war (Daniel 11:40-45), and being consoled about his people’s destiny (Daniel 12:1-3):“Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end Daniel 12:4

What knowledge?

In the last century there has been a renewed interest in Bible prophecy that has been lost to divergent theologies since the 2nd century AD. And Jesus promised a crown to those who would watch for His appearing:

“From now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but to all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:8
