I will bring them to My sacred mount And let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices Shall be welcome on My mizbayach; For My House shall be called A house of prayer for all peoples.” Isaiah 56:7 (The Israel Bible™)
Opinion: Of the worst mistakes Israel made in the past 71 years, handing the Temple Mount over to the Jordanian Waqf has got to be ranked right up there with the 1947 agreement to a two-state solution, and the 2005 Gaza disengagement plan.
Once a year I bring out how the Temple Mount wound up in Arab hands even after the stunning miraculous victory of the 1967 Six Day War that united east and west Jerusalem after 2000 years.
“Arab leaders at that time were sure that Dayan would order the al-Aqsa Mosque to be destroyed and a Jewish Temple to be built. They, and the rest of the world, never expected what would happen next. Dayan, fearing that the fighting would never stop, decided to relinquish ownership of the Temple Mount to the Arab Waqf (religious authority) as a sign of peace and good will.”
Moshe Dayan was a secular Jew and saw no reason for Jews to pray on the Temple Mount.
